Tips for a successful first date with a single
woman
The rules for dating is constantly changing. Some may argue that
dating were much simpler in the past when the rules were clear cut.
These days it is not so easy to know what is expected of the male
when dating. With the advent off the online dating service you may
even know the person well before meeting her in person for the first
time. However I do believe there are some guidelines that can go
a long way towards making the initial dates go much smoother.
There are exception to this rule but try and avoid dating someone
that you work with or that you have daily business dealings with.
When you ask a single woman for a date and she says no or do not
give you a clear answer do not ask her again. If a single woman
approaches you for a date be honest in your response and do not
mislead her in order to spare her feelings. If you want to ask someone
out for a date that you met on an online dating service, make sure
that you organise the meeting in a public place and not to late
at night.
When you are on a first date be careful not to talk about your personal
problems and do not act desperate. Keep the date light hearted and
the conversation upbeat and positive. It is a time when you get
to learn more about each other and subjects such as the future of
the relationship or complaining about previous girlfriends should
be avoided. Do not brag about your accomplishments or pretend to
be funny. It is best to focus on her and her interests.
Limit yourself to a couple of drinks and do not get drunk on the
first date. If you meet some of your friends do not leave your date
to talk to your friends. Take her with you and introduce her to
you friends and continue with your date without your friends.
The date was a success and you want to call her, how long should
you wait? To avoid looking desperate it is probably best to wait
two to three days before you call her. Make the phone call on a
weekday, you want to her to think that you have a busy social life
and do not have time to call over the weekends. Let her call you
some times as well. If you are the only one calling all the time
you have to rethink whether she is interested in you.
When the relationship is developing and you have been dating for
a while be wary of seeing too much of each other. You have to maintain
your own interests, after all you want to have a full active life
to welcome her in to. Having a full life makes you more interesting
and gives you something to focus on other than her all the time.
When both partners in a relationship have a life of their own it
keeps things interesting. It is not the quantity of time spend together
that makes a relationship work but the quality of the time.
